Privacy Policy
Docxify ("the app", "we") is a document, PDF, image and media toolkit for Android. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it. The short version: the tools work on your phone, your files are not uploaded to us, and we do not run accounts, analytics or tracking of our own.
1. Files you open
- Files you pick, scan, share into or create with Docxify are processed on your device. We never receive them.
- Results are saved in the app's private storage, in a task history you can see in Files, and are deleted automatically after the period you choose in Settings (1 day, 7 days, 30 days or never). You can delete them at any time.
- Files you save to Downloads, or share to another app, leave Docxify's control and follow that location's or app's rules.
2. Information we do not collect
- We do not create accounts and do not ask for your name, email address or phone number.
- We do not bundle analytics or advertising-measurement SDKs of our own, and we do not sell personal data.
- Crash details stay on your phone. After a crash the app offers to open an email draft with the technical error; nothing is sent unless you send that email yourself.
3. Services that receive data
Some features talk to other companies. Each acts under its own privacy policy.
- Google AdMob (free plan only). Shows ads. Google may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, approximate location and ad interactions to show, measure and protect ads. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland you are asked for consent first, and you can change it at any time in Settings → Ad privacy choices. Pro users get no ads and the ad SDK is not started. - Google Play Billing. Handles Pro purchases. We receive only whether a purchase is valid; payment details stay with Google.
- Google Play services. Downloads on-device ML models (face detection and subject segmentation for passport photos), and provides in-app updates and in-app reviews. Your photos are processed on the phone, not sent to Google.
- AI providers you choose (optional). AI tools (summarise, translate, chat with PDF, handwriting, tables from photos, resume polish) only run if you add your own API key for a provider such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini, OpenRouter or a server you run. When you run one, the text or images that tool needs are sent directly from your phone to that provider, under your agreement with them. Keys are stored encrypted with an Android Keystore key.
- Cloud tools. Tools marked "Cloud" are not active in this version. If they are enabled later, the app will ask before a file leaves the phone and the file will be deleted from the server within one hour.
4. Permissions
Docxify asks only for what a feature needs, when you use it. Camera (scanner and photo capture), notifications (folder automation results), biometrics (app lock) and internet (ads, billing, model downloads, AI tools you configure). Files are opened through the Android file picker you control; the app does not read your storage on its own. See Settings → Legal & compliance → Permissions for the full list.
5. Security
- Processing happens inside the app's private, sandboxed storage.
- API keys are encrypted with a hardware-backed Android Keystore key where the phone supports it.
- Optional app lock (fingerprint, face or screen lock), screenshot blocking and an AES-256 file vault are available.
- Release builds are code-shrunk and obfuscated.
6. Your rights and choices
Because we do not hold your files or an account about you, most rights are exercised on the phone itself:
- Access and portability: every output is in Files; share or save it anywhere.
- Deletion: delete single files, all processed files (Settings → Files & storage), or everything the app stores (Legal & compliance → Delete all app data). Uninstalling also removes all app data.
- Consent: change ad consent in Settings → Ad privacy choices; remove an AI key at any time.
These choices apply under the EU and UK GDPR, India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, the California Consumer Privacy Act and similar laws. For requests about data held by Google or an AI provider, contact that company.
7. Children
Docxify is a general-audience productivity app and is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the app, contact us and we will help remove it.
8. Changes
We will update this policy when the app's data practices change and show the new effective date here. Significant changes will be highlighted in the app's "What's new" notes.
9. Contact
Questions, requests or complaints (including grievances under India's IT Rules and the DPDP Act): email info@canwe.tech (developer: CanWe.tech), or use Settings → Help & feedback → Contact support in the app.
